  • Samoyed dog has a  tail that distinguish it from other breeds. This is its peculiar feature and the tail curls over its back like the Alaskan Malamute. The  Samoyed dog’s tail  touches it’s  back and  held in a tight curl/ flag-like; it is held lying over its back to one side. During the cold, Samoyed dog’s tail is usually on their noses to fight the cold weather and provide warmth. The tail falls when the samoyed is relaxed or at eased, when it is being stroked or during its meal. However, when there is danger alert or a threat, it curls back the tail.
  • Samoyed dog’s coat is double layered and dense. The upper coat is long with straight guard hairs that are coarse with a hint of silver coloring or white.  The upper coat keeps the undercoat free from debris and clean. The under layered coat has short fur that is soft and and keeps it warm most especially during the cold weather. In addition, the undercoat is shed once it twice yearly which is known  as ” blowing coat”  dense, soft, and short fur that keeps the dog warm. The males  said to have  larger ruffs than their female counterparts.
  • The breed is hypoallergenic which means that samoyed dogs needs regular grooming and  do not produce so much allergies . Proper care must be given to the samoyed to prevent severe allergies.

Factors that determine the price of Samoyed:-

Location/ places to purchase:-

As you have seen in the aforementioned price list, the prices of Samoyed depends on the cities or places you are making your purchases. Price standard can be based on the location of the particular place you are getting your Samoyed.  The price range varies based on cities or places. In India, there are three places in cities you can buy Samoyed from which are; professional Breeders, Pet shops and puppy mills. Each of the following aforementioned do the following:

  • Professional Breeders: These are trained people who are experts in dealing with different breeds/dogs. I will recommend this as a first choice for anyone who wants to buy a samoyed dog. They are experts who may be willing to provide after sales services. They ensure that the breeds are well fed with quality food and good environment is of topmost priority. It is guaranteed that you will get quality Samoyed from the professional breeder. You can also contact them and reach them easily for any other information.
  • Pet Shops: This another good option to go for when purchasing your samoyed dog. The Pet shops raise their breeds in a standard and quality environment and the dog food given to the dogs is of good quality.  In addition, do not forget to ask the pet shop owners where they buy their dogs. You can make this your next choice after you are unable to contact a professional breeder.
  • Puppy Mills: The mills sell dogs at the most affordable prices and at a low quality. This isn’t an option I recommend to people except when the aforementioned two options are out of reach in India. If you have a low budget, you should consider getting a samoyed dog from puppy mills. Ensure you ask the right questions to get the best details from them before making your payment.

Type of Breed:-

Pay attention! To be informed is to avoid getting a breed that is deformed. You must watch out for mix breeds. The Mix breed is sold a lower price range when compared to the pure breed samoyed dog. A lower budget only get you a mixed breed that you may not be aware of. Make sure you have enough to get you a pure breed to avoid issues that may come up later.

Generation/Lineage/ Bloodline:-

Another factor that determine the price of a samoyed is the lineage or generation. Professional breeders easily share information regarding this and that’s why I recommended them as the first option. The most quality breeds are the most expensive but you are guaranteed the best in terms of quality.

Samoyed dog from the ancestors of the champion is more expensive. In India, the price range of getting a samoyed that is a champion is 300,000INR to 500,000INR. Bloodline is a major determinant of the price you can purchase a Samoyed.

Age:

In India, price standards is regulated based on the age of a samoyed which can be a puppy or a dog. Samoyed puppy is more expensive than the adult dog.  It easier to raise a puppy than an adult. It is a good choice to buy a puppy than an adult dog which may prove difficult to train.
